As a small group leader you may have heard the statement by now that “groups are the greenhouse for spiritual growth.” Small groups are so powerful, because if they have the right climate, soil and care, they can really foster spiritual growth in their members. Groups are also often called the “side-door” to the church. New church members who enter from groups often stick more because they have already built lasting relationships.

The spiritual growth assessment tool attached below has twelve major questions about spiritual growth. Under each of the twelve questions the group member is asked: “I feel my group is intentionally helping me grow in this area?” Dedicate one of your next group meetings to have your group members take this assessment. Please share with us what your group learned from taking it.
